All-Inclusive Overnight Rio Claro

2 Days

Rio Claro is a beautiful natural reserve where you can do a calm white-water rafting or tubing down a river, go ziplining, and birdwatching. You will be staying in open air cabins. With this nature tour, your electronics, for the most part, will not work or barely work. This trip is to take you back in time and enjoy the outdoors without technology – just you, your friends, the animals, and mother nature. This is also a great place for kids for swimming and a very beginning zipline (canopy) over the river. There are a variety of things to do here, but this specific trip includes a calm white-water rafting experience and ziplining over the water, and of course birdwatching on your own if you prefer. These are activities children 7 and over can take part in. Exploring caves and rock climbing here but children need to be a little bit older, and we can do a customized tour if you prefer those other 2 activities. (12 yrs. old for cave exploring and 18 yrs. old for rock climbing). A medical card is necessary for this trip, which we include. All of our trips include insurance.

Note: Rio Claro is in the Tropical Rain Forest so it can get quite humid. Humidity near water often attracts mosquitos so we highly recommend mosquito spray here. Cabins are open air, which means mosquitos may enter, but you have a net over your bed. Very rarely does anyone complain about this as we are in a primitive area but very well preserved. Many tourism sites will not give you this information, but we wanted you to be aware. There are a lot of trees, so even though it is humid, there is usually plenty of breeze.

You will spend two fun days in nature with your group where you will raft down a river at a calm level 2 pace, so this is excellent for kids. There are plenty of natural pools and puddles to swim. The minimum age for Ziplining is 7 years old and the minimum age for rock climbing (canyoning) is 18 years old. You will also explore a cave. We have packages for all ages.

Is there internet?

Not in the cabins, but you may or may not have a signal in the cafeteria.

Can I bring my pet?

For overnight stays, the park does not allow pets.

What are the ages for children to be able to do activities.

Children 7 and over can go white water rafting or ziplining. Children 12 and over can go explore caves. You must be 18 to go rock climbing. However, at this location, is probably the safest in Colombia as no sport here is extreme. It is excellent for beginners. If you want to bring children under 7, this is a good place to swim in clear water. However, you definitely need to exercise with caution. Although the river has clam rapids, it is still strong enough to move you with a decent amount of force.
