Alejandria is a small town located in Eastern Antioquia, 56 miles (90 km) from Medellin. It has a variety of things to do such as fish, visit waterfalls where you can take a dip and swim, tube down a river, swim in natural pools in a river, hike, and take kayaks down the river. There is a water park referred to in Colombia as a “Balneario” and named as Balneario Nudillales and is literally on the Nare River where kids and adults alike can enjoy the day out away from the city life. Tourists outside of the country barely know about this adventurous town. Not much is said in travel guides and basically nothing on major travel sites. Waterfalls Tours is the most comprehensive site for this excellent adventurous town. There is a plethora of things to do in Alejandria, Antioquia Colombia. There are many festivals throughout the year, including music, sports, delicious food festivals, and history festivals. Overview
We will meet at Niqui Metro Station unless otherwise stated with your group. Our adventure will begin driving to San Vicente to see your first spectacular waterfall. You may see many birds, butterflies, cows, some donkeys and horses. Then, your adventure continues on to a town called, Concepcion where you will eat lunch in an old-style Colombian restaurant. This is a very colonial town where you will see a cultural museum and take a city tour. Then, your VIP venture begins. Before leaving Concepcion, you will visit an amazing waterfall with extravagant scenery that has three falls and plenty of room to bathe in the water at this waterfall. After your specified time here, you will be driven to your cabins at the Balneario. Here, you will have dinner, swim, relax, or whatever you want to do and of course remain the night in your cabin. The following day, you will take a tube ride down the Rio Nare with very friendly and experienced guides. During this tube ride, you will see 3 amazing waterfalls. Then, you will return and have lunch at the Balneario. After lunch, we will return to the Balneario or Medellin, whatever your choice is. However, we need to leave by 5 p.m. on the final day of the tour.
